Happy 2023 all! A new year means new writing resolutions! Made another visit to the storage unit today. I wholly intended to take Osgood Rd. back in honor of my fan base. Only to realize the segment I meant to drive on changes the name to Driscoll Road! Son of a… At least I got the accompanying photo. More relevant to the subject of writing, my highest priority is re-editing Carnival Aurantica, clearing up some boo-boos and character inconsistencies. I recently read it through from beginning to end and as it turns out, there’s not a whole lot that needs to be fixed (Gen. Pugovkin’s designation being the main sticking point; he should be a Brigadier General). I also want to fix the formatting, now that DA has provided me with the means to do so. The thing that bugs the the most about the broken formatting, apart from the missing italics, is little Roy’s letter to his uncle Sammy, which was intended as an homage to Frederick Opper’s “Freddy’s Slate” feature from the 19th

Just another note that "The Gnome and the Star Stone" is now complete! I even included a sub-"gallery" collecting all four parts of Bramble's story (including "The Gnome and the Demon") for easy reading. And they're all sequenced in the correct order, unlike the mess that is Carnival Aurantiaca! I'll be taking a break for a week or two from writing. Spending so much time writing in the same world means I'm still "stuck" in it. I just need a clean break from it so I can concentrate on other things. I really love Bramble's world and it's a delightful place to be, but it's also good to know when to step away from a project. Don't want to become The Simpsons! So, see you again circa December, when I resume work on "The Bubble Genie." Take care till then!

First draft of "The Gnome and the Star Stone" is just about finished. Just needs a little clean up, and then I'll submit it to my "usual" proofreader (the same guy who did "The Gnome and the Demon"). I'm committed to submitting it in three parts a week apart. The first part should be up within the week, if all goes to plan. This story is really weird in that it's ALREADY generated fanart, and I haven't even finished writing it! That is absolutely not a thing I've ever experienced before. (I will not feature said fanart unless the creator gives me their OK.) In the meantime, from DALL-E 2, as close as we've come so far to my conception of Izax. His beard needs to be longer, and his belly bigger, but this is VERY close to how I'd envisioned him! Nice architecture too, don't you think?
